The Uniswap Foundation will distribute $ 1.8 million in grants to 14 beneficiaries – Defi Bitcoin News

The Uniswap Foundation (UF), the group behind decentralized exchange (dex) Uniswap, announced the foundation’s first wave of grants on Wednesday as it plans to distribute $ 1.8 million in total, awarded in 14 grants. The UF announcement details that an extra $ 800,000 will be awarded to Uniswap Diamond, a project under construction by GFX Labs.

Uniswap will disperse $ 1.8 million across 14 different projects

On September 21, the Uniswap Foundation announced the first wave of grants that aims to strengthen the decentralized finance ecosystem (defi) and advance research and development. According to the UF, the foundation will disperse $ 1.8 million in the form of 14 grants and the Uniswap Diamond project will receive the largest sum. The Uniswap Diamond project is under construction by GFX Labs and will receive a total of $ 808,725 in 3 disbursements. The UF says the project is “one of the most ambitious initiatives ever funded by Uniswap Grants”.

The other grants will be awarded to projects such as Uniswap.fish (formerly Uniswap Calculator), a Uniswap data mining tool, a constant function market maker called Numoen

and a Uniswap v3 development course. UF specifies that the size and scope of the grants have been divided into three different categories, which include:

  • Protocol Growth, including a decentralized volatility oracle and a data analysis tool that extracts data from the Uniswap subgraph into a CSV file.
  • Community growth, including a Uniswap v3 development course and events in Latin America, Africa and Canada.
  • Governance Stewardship, which includes an in-depth analysis of the state of the Uniswap delegation, which will result in a series of recommendations for improving governance.

In addition, Uniswap community-based grants will be awarded to promote defi in Latin America and Africa. This includes a “series of events, workshops and meetings” in Latin America and “sponsorship of the Ghana Crypto and Defi Summit 2022”. UF also explains that a grant is awarded to the Phi Metaverso, in order to provide “support for the creation of Uniswap specific game resources and missions”. Another grant will go to sponsoring the Ignition Hacks virtual hackathon and another to a governance management solution called Holdim.
