If you loved Netflix’s recent adaptation of Gerard Way’s comic series The Umbrella Academy, so you’re no doubt pretty excited to know that after a long hiatus, season three is finally here!

The new season will see the likes of Elliot Page, Tom Hopper and Robert Sheehan reprise their roles and some new faces.

If you happen to binge on the new season too quickly – hey, we all do – we’re here United Kingdom Metro I’ve spotted 10 other Netflix shows that should be for you if you enjoyed The Umbrella Academy – you can thank us later.

Altered carbon

This dark and dystopian series is perfect for anyone who considers Blade Runner and The Matrix to be among their favorite movies.

Set well over 300 years into the future, Altered Carbon describes a haunting world in which death can be avoided by dumping your consciousness on a “pile” that can then be snugly inserted into a “sleeve” (AKA a human body).

Creepy stuff indeed – and, if that sounds like your kind of thing, then you’ll be happy to hear that a second season is already in the works.

Metro.co.uk states, “Altered Carbon is an exquisitely entertaining and clever sci-fi hit series, even if it’s just putting itself right up your sleeve.”

Misfits

Another Robert Sheehan series, Misfits, sees a group of community service teens acquire superpowers after being struck by lightning.

However, they are not the only ones, as they quickly discover that these incredible powers bring in new enemies in the form of a probation officer, ex of the past, and a dangerous cult to name a few.

You can watch all five series on Netflix now – get ready for loads of action and some of the most colorful insults you’ve ever heard.

The order

The Hermetic Order of the Blue Rose is arguably an even better name for a group than The Umbrella Academy, and the secret society at the heart of The Order is something you’ll want to know all about as you go through this magic and dark arts themed series. .

Oh, and there are a lot of werewolves involved too. Who doesn’t love a werewolf show?

Maniac

This high-budget series promised a lot when the first trailer was released, most notably when Oscar winner Emma Stone and actor / director / good guy Jonah Hill were cast as protagonists.

The two stars, who last starred opposite each other in Superbad, play Annie Landsberg and Owen Milgrim, a pair of weary individuals who undergo a strange and completely experimental process.

“Things do not go as planned”, anticipates the synopsis. Time to find out why, then!

The OA

Another show that ended after only a few series, The OA was filled with secrets, mysteries, and questionable research methods.

The two seasons center around Brit Marling’s character Prairie (just one of her many identities), as she grapples with the new skills and responsibilities she seems to have developed since returning home after missing for seven full years.

Metro.co.uk says: ‘Even when the weak spots show up, it’s hard not to admire The OA for everything that’s coming into the pot. Attempts to explore new territory may make you crave a stronger human connection, but there is a fearless and endearing drive that pushes this series into a realm of its own. ‘

Stranger things

We count on you could I’ve heard about this.

Prepare appropriately for the long-awaited second volume of Season 4 by delving into (or diving back into) the smash hit Duffer Brothers show, which is about a healthy stash of monsters, alternate dimensions, and the compelling development of a not-quite-ordinary group movie. of teenagers.

Metro.co.uk states, “Stranger Things has become an impossible word of mouth without losing the name of its influences. The Goonies, ET and Close Encounters Of The Third Kind have all been easy reference points for outsiders, leaving the spirit behind. by John Carpenter and Stephen King who sparkled underneath to be the amazing core that turned everyone upside down. ‘

Gotham

If you love your dark and dangerous comics, Gotham is the show for you.

Ben McKenzie plays a younger version of grizzled Gotham cop James Gordon as he attempts to tackle crime and corruption in the titular city – and lots of stories about the origins and familiar characters of Batman comics like The Penguin and The Riddler.

And there are five series to tackle full of action and mystery. What’s not to love?

Lucifer

Based on the characters created by Neil Gaiman, Sam Kieth and Mike Dringenberg, Lucifer follows the original fallen angel as he becomes dissatisfied with life in hell.

He begins indulging in his favorite pleasures – namely women and wine – before a murder takes place outside his luxury nightclub and finds a new purpose in his (afterlife) life.

The newly formed crew of young superheroes join forces to fight their inner demons and save the planet from evil – sounds interesting? All three series are now on Netflix with a fourth series in production

Diablero

Imagine a city inhabited by demons – yes, not very pleasant, right?

In Diablero, this is exactly what happened to poor old Mexico City after all the protective angels left. Fortunately, though, a group of very capable individuals have taken it upon themselves to enforce order and kick some demons, even if it is understandably a somewhat complicated question.
